After eating at the opposition hotel in Bellingen for a number of years we decided to give Diggers Tavern a go for the 1st time tonight. Feedback l can gladly say was all positive?????? Service was great, meals were even better?? My wife had the creamy chicken penne that was fresh & extremely tasty. I myself had the Aussie Parma to which l can say was like an old school Parma?? Home made Schnitzel,real bacon not diced or strips and plenty of cheese to top it off,best of all it was cooked perfect not overcooked like 90% of the parmas these days?? Great 1st experience we will definitely be back??????

Room was okay. They are obviously doing up the accommodation as the room smelt very strongly of paint we needed to leave the window open to try and get rid of it and in winter that is not ideal. Bed was hard and not very comfy. Make sure you book the restaurant as it is very busy even on a Tuesday night. Food in the restaurant was fabulous.

We don't usually eat at pubs but finding ourselves in bellingen on a Sunday night decided to give it a go.., what a surprise ... the place was packed (full of locals) ...the service swift and food amazing... we got the pork and lamb roasts ...as it was toast night great value for money ... the macadamia and berry and rhubarb crumble was magnificent After a family funeral on the Monday ... we came here agsin.., packed and once again amazing service, value hit money good quality Bar and kitchen staff are friendly and customer focused ... no wonder the locals eat here ... Tried the other pub tonight...the federal ...don't bother ...came back to the diggers for dessert!!

Centrally located in town, this is very basic no frills accommodation. It could do with a bit of an update in decor but otherwise clean and tidy. The only downside was the receptionist/barperson - abrupt and unfriendly. When checking in we were told to wait while she served the "more important regulars" at the bar first.

Spacious room. My. room had aircon, tea and coffee making facilities, and a small supply of juices, cereals for a light breakfast. At night I found the place very quiet for sleeping. To walk to the room you need to walk through the public bar area to the back of the hotel. There is a back door if you don't want to walk through the public bar, but just a little further to get around the Main Street. Plenty of parking at the back too.

Great rooms in the motel and friendly bar staff. The food was great and generous and a good price. Outside non-smoking and separate smoking area was good. Inside spacious food menu was great and lots of specials options. Reasonably priced drinks food and accommodation.

A fairly new block built at the back of the tavern. Room was very quiet as I think most would be, large and appointed in normal motel style. Bathroom and room were very clean. The only downside was the carpark. The tavern uses the public carpark located behind the main street (but right beside the tavern accommodation). I confess to being a little worried about the security of the car during the night, but all was fine, however we did have to keep a close eye on teenagers riding skateboards right beside our car in the carpark. The entrance to the accommodation was not easy to find (around the rear of the building) There is no lift from the carpark to the accommodation, so we had to carry our bags up two flights of stairs. The connected tavern is well located in the main street and we did not hear any noise from the patrons when in our room. Overall, a pleasant stay in a clean, well-priced, well-located property.

I have stayed at the Diggers on a few occasions, and I can confirm it is always very clean. Bathrooms are clean, the linen is crisp and fresh, and the rooms are fairly spacious and well appointed. The only downside is your vehicles are not terribly secure, pick a room that has good overview of the carpark if you want to keep an eye on your vehicle.
